Is there a way to see who we have sent a challenge to?

Kathy Downey 8 years ago 0

I send several challenges a day (to different people, sometimes more than one challenge to the same person). Unless someone accepts and I receive their email, I have no way of knowing who I have sent one to, and who I haven't. Is there some way that we can keep a record or see who we have sent a challenge to, the story, the date, and the person we've sent it to? We now have an 'accept challenge' button. Maybe we can somehow have a 'decline' button??

A place to vent

Kathy Downey 8 years ago 0

I think it would be neat, perhaps beneficial, if we had a 'specific' place/forum (?) for us to vent. It would only pertain to Story War issues, nothing else. It could also be a place for us to get to know one another, which since we can't add a small BIO on our profile page, would definitely be used by all.

How soon can we start to edit our own stories?

Kathy Downey 8 years ago updated 8 years ago 2

Hi Joakim: I realize that you have a million things going on in your life, but have a quick question: How soon can we start to edit our own stories? Someone submitted their draft for Chapter 8 of my 'Word Salad' story, but definitely did not follow instructions. Instructions were to submit a SENTENCE. This person submitted several PARAGRAPHS instead. It won't be fair if this person's draft got into my story, and didn't follow the instructions of the originator of the story.

Thanks.

How many times can you challenge someone in a 24 hr period?

Kathy Downey 8 years ago updated 8 years ago 2

I know that this was answered somewhere, but I keep getting a message telling me that I've reached my quota for challenging others. I don't think the 'count' or whatever is working because I know I haven't sent (40?) in the last 24 hrs and when does the 24 hrs end?

Thank you.

Points per story calculation, Puzzled

Kathy Downey 8 years ago updated 8 years ago 6

This morning I added a new story 'Word Association'. Prior to that, my Points Per Story score was 10.40. Now after submitting the story, it's down to 8.67. How is the points per story calculated?

Thanks :)

Feedback: how is the % calculated?

Kathy Downey 8 years ago updated 8 years ago 2

I have given feedback to exactly 84 times so far with a 72% (?). How is this percentage calculated? I recently saw on another person's profile: this person gave feedback 2 times with a 100% reading. How is this possible that I can spend my time and give feedback 84 times, but only receive a 72%??

Thanks

When you receive feedback you can rate it as helpful. That means that 72 % of your feedback has been rated as helpful.

Might need to look over the whole feedback part though

How to renew/spotlight stories that have faded into space :)

Kathy Downey 8 years ago 0

There are many stories that start out with a 'bang' (get participation and votes), then after a while they fade into the sunset. Is there a way to have a separate section (maybe somewhere where all of the stories are listed i.e. Editor's choice/Subscribed Stories.....)

Many, if not all, of these stories are well written and it's sad to see our time that many of us have spent on them, to be not worth anything.

Thanks

Challenges

Kathy Downey 8 years ago updated by joakim johansson 8 years ago 7

Question: Many times lately, when I'm sent a challenge on any particular story, I don't necessarily want to duel, but still want to submit my draft to that same story. But I imagine that by me submitting to the story, that this is basically my acceptance to the challenge. Is this correct, and if so, is there a remedy for correcting this?

Thanks :)

A button to click on (ACCEPT or DECLINE) when challenged to a duel

Kathy Downey 8 years ago 0

When we get an email telling us that someone has challenged us, we are then taken to the 'duel' page, where we are then taken to the story for which we are being challenged. At THIS point, is where we need some type of button for us to either ACCEPT or DECLINE the challenge. Then that person would get an email with our response. The way it is now is if I decide to submit a draft for the challenged story (amidst other entries), neither one of us knows (A) if I've submitted/accepted the challenge, and (B) who has won (other than a brief blurb flashed at the top of any given page.

Sorry for the length :)

New things noticed lately

Kathy Downey 8 years ago updated 8 years ago 3

Today, I noticed a couple of NEW things. First, as your writing your draft, it's constantly SAVING it, which is nice. Second, there is a LIMIT to how many challenges you can send in one day. Not sure what that number is, but apparently I reached it today, and a message appeared saying something like 'You've reached your limit of challenges sent for today. Try tomorrow'. This is also a good idea.

But I would like to recommend that something gets posted to alert the members of Story Wars as to new and or changes to anything on this site. That way, it won't be a surprise when it suddenly appears.

Thank you.
