Personal stories

DANDAN THE DANDAN no 2 7 years ago updated by BruhhItsAllie 7 years ago 2

Instead of having to write stories together that sometimes doesn't make sense and stressful if the plot got turned around and wildcards actually kill the story,

WHY NOT MAKE ONE BY YOURSELF?

Instead of disobeying the rules, you can unlock a rank by achieving a certain number of points!

Here's how it works. First, you need to get a good enough points to show that you're a good writer/been in story wars long enough (example: 500 points). Next, they will get a new button in their home page that allows them to write personal stories, but they gotta pay a good amount of gems to make sure that they don't go full solo.

Then, they are allowed to write a certain amount of pages. The more points, the more pages (for the same price or change a little up to you). Once the story's done, they can publish it. You can prepare a "Library" to sell personal stories, and those who wanna buy them gotta pay gems. 50% of the gems "go to the Library" while the other half goes to the writer.

The price is arranged by an AI according to rating and total pages to make sure that it's not crazy expensive or crazy cheap.

This is a good way to tell another side of the writer and spend gems (and earn them too). What do you think?

See a draft's votes

joakim johansson 7 years ago updated 7 years ago 0

"I was wondering if for a new update you could put it how many votes each draft has so far? Because if you wrote a draft for a story and you don't know if you're winning or not, it's nice to know how many votes you've gotten so far." From a PM

Private and mature stories not showing up on your own profile

joakim johansson 8 years ago updated by BruhhItsAllie 7 years ago 3
I've noticed that, even if you have mature mode on, you can't view mature stories you've written on your own profile. I think the same goes for on others' profiles, too. Shouldn't this be changed?

story specific chat

/R/ 8 years ago updated 8 years ago 2

ok so i was thinking it would be cool to have a chat for a specific story, where people talk about ideas, and what they voted for, and that stuff in a way it doesn't interrupt the normal chat and is easier to find than say the forums. it could be one the side maybe or maybe you'd have to click to have it pop up idk but it could promote people really collaborating and talking about the stories, maybe some 'promote similar stories' and stuff, plus it could be really fun. don't know whether it would be 100% anon, or just with users, or a ton of chatangos (that might not work) and i get not doing it because it sounds stupid hard to code, but it would be cool and a nice alternative to the chatango? idk man.

Chapters Won Statistic

/R/ 8 years ago 0

this has always bugged me a little bit - could the chapters won statistic only count stories where said draft was up for voting? maybe it's just because i have so many drafts that are stuck in a 1 draft story but it would be nice to see the actual statistic for how many have won/lost instead of the current status. this is a super small thing that is easy to gloss over and probably doesn't affect many people, so it's cool not to touch it now or ever, but idk it just bugs me.

Auto-save to our database

joakim johansson 8 years ago 0

Right now we save it in your browser, which is great for offline purposes but if you ever clear your browser or change device you won't access it. When you are online we should store it in a database and use the browser storing when you are offline

Help

/R/ 8 years ago updated by Kathy Downey 8 years ago 1

while there are ways to get help on issues i think a specific place with some common problems and a way to ask beyond just messaging joakim directly could be useful. could be glitch type of issues but also while there's a strong and very helpful community and story wars is pretty easy to pick up, beyond the very basic stuff not much is explained.

Would love to know the people who give me feedback.

Recieved feedback twice now and I was hoping to know the people who gave them to me. It would be great if the writers name was included with their opinions!

Our own subscribed stories: Possibly add WRITTEN or VOTED

Kathy Downey 8 years ago 0

Hi Joakim: When I bring up my 'subscribed stories', is there a way you can add under each of the stories, the word either: VOTED (to indicate that I've already voted on that draft), or the word WRITTEN (to indicate that I've already written my draft and submitted it to the story)? Even though there is a tab for 'voting' and 'writing', by adding these two words to each story, would make it easier for all of us,so that we wouldn't have to click through all of the stories to determine whether or not we voted for it already, or wrote for it.

Thanks.
