I think this topic deserves more attention and having this talked about more would be a good thing

Maybe look at the conversation on accepting drafts. But this is good.

I was told by another SW user, but I don't really use it that much. I "Discover" and I search sometimes, but I don't use this, because I don't have the visual cue to look at the new stories. I think if we had a button near "All Stories" and 'Random Story", that would be good.

This is a good idea

I came back to SW after a short break and up came "Gems" - honestly, I think that gems is not really an update that I would like, I mean, what do I want with Nightmode, or an owl badge - it doesn't exactly change my experience, and anyway, it is only like the top 20 users that can afford an owl badge from the shop (the minority), and then only the top few (around 4-5 (maybe less)) can afford Nightmode. And now, we have to pay for stories with gems. I might as well just create 22 stories with the gems I have, because I know that I am not going to get to 750 gems or 2000 or whatever (without paying - I'd rather spend however many dollars on a new camera or something that I will use (update: has paying for gems gone?)). To conclude, I think that gems are a waste of time, and we should rather have a time limit on story creation(eg. one story per month per user).

I think this would be a great feature, but the main problem with this is that it would be very hard for people to chat. On SW there are over 10,000 stories, so, 1, it would be hard to find a way to put chats on all of these stories, and 2, because there are so many stories, people would have a hard time to find someone to chat on a story.

Uh, here, I would just say that R's chapters got more votes, and therefore more points.

Tags are overrated. But I think editing stories comes under this: http://storywars.userecho.com/topics/64-edit-other-peoples-storiesdraft/ but we can edit the original story (if it's ours) for one hour.

(PLEASE READ THIS ALL!)

As much as I think that this is a really good idea, I have a few problems:

1. If your draft is rejected, does the author have to provide a reason?

1.1. If they do, can it be a reason such as "don't like where it's going", "don't like the storyline", etc. or does it have to be for reasons such as grammar, spelling, etc. ?

1.1.1. Can the author of a rejected draft (for the latter reasons (grammar, spelling, etc.)) have a chance to change their draft so that it has good grammar, spelling, etc.?

1.1.2. For that matter, can the same happen to authors of drafts that have been rejected for the former reasons ("don't like where it's going", "don't like the storyline", etc. )?

1.2 If they don't, can rejected authors object?

1.2.1. If they can, how would they know if it has been rejected?

2. What happens if a draft is rejected? (A) Is it re-voted on without that draft, (B) does the original author get to choose, (C) or does the original author get to approve/reject the next most voted on draft and so on if they reject multiple drafts?

2.1. What happens if multiple drafts are rejected and there is no draft that has been approved?

3. If say, for example, I go offline for 6 months, what happens to the story?

4. Do all the authors of the story get to vote? Because if, for example, someone had written 6 chapters on an eight chapter story (who wasn't the original author) wouldn't it be a bit unfair (understatement) if they didn't get a say on who wrote the last draft?

4.1. Should it be the author who contributed the most?

4.2. Should it be essentially another round of voting whether the draft should get in? The authors of the story each get a say?

4.2.1. Should each author get an equal vote or should they get an amount of votes representing the amount of chapters they have written?

5. If authors get to approve/reject drafts, couldn't they just reject drafts until he finds his draft, and then just approve that? That would be unfair to other authors who did deserve to win, but were disregarded because the original author wanted their draft?

I think this is a great idea.
